Without the work done by women during World War II America would not have been as successful as they were throughout the war.

"We Can Do It!”(“WWII Museum”)This quote was one of the many rallying cries plastered on posters in the hopes of getting women to join the war effort. It is also a phrase many women had not heard about them in the past. Women played important roles in wars in the past but their role in World War II was unlike anything else. Without the work women did both at home and serving in the war in battle and as nurses America would not have been as successful or in such a stable place as it was after the war.World War II began when France and Britain declared war on Germany after they invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. (History.com) Throughout a duration of the war America choose to remain out of the fighting. That was until Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 and America declared war on Japan. (Colman, 7)  The U.S. was in desperate need of manpower so they turned to what they figured was their next best option, womanpower.
